At Chestnut Montessori School, our goal is to provide our children opportunities to grow and develop within all curriculum areas and to provide a foundation to excel in their personal and character development.

 

All teaching positions require dedicated teachers who have a passion for education and are organized, flexible, and sensitive to children's needs with solid verbal and written communication skills.

 

 

Montessori Teacher with Early Childhood Credential

Full time

Monday-Friday

8:00 - 4:00

The Early Childhood Teacher must be able to guide his/her students' activities academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori. Responsibilities include: Work collaboratively with staff to develop and implement a curriculum that follows the Montessori philosophy, prepare and maintain a clean, orderly and attractive Montessori classroom and Montessori curriculum, demonstrate respect, kindness and rapport with all students, teaching team, parents, and the community at large, prepare for conferences with parents in the fall of each year, continuously evaluate each child's academic, social, and physical development to share with parents, respond promptly and professionally in communication with parents and staff, attend and participate in staff meetings, school events, field trips and training opportunities.

EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS:

• Montessori (MACTE accredited course) Early Childhood (Ages 2.5 to 6) certified.

• Meets minimum preparation and experience required for certification as an Early Childhood Education Teacher.

• Complies with all state education and licensing standards, and maintains validation of credentials for the position (i.e. Professional development).

• 2+ years of experience in a Primary Montessori classroom in a licensed Montessori School.

• Strong organizational skills.

 

The ideal candidate:

• Demonstrate a genuine love of working with children

• Positive, punctual and dependable

• Able to multi-task, show initiative and able to accept direction

• Willing to maintain ongoing professional development.

• Excellent personal and professional references.

• First Aid/CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens training are also required. Negative TB test documentation required within 30 days of hire.

• Able to pass a Washington State Background check and provide supplemental materials showing required certifications/documentation
